The additional defense just isn't worth the loss of vitality. Haha, my first thought was, this must have been offline play. What youre doing here is calculating the odds of not finding the item on a run, (1-(Odds per Run)), and multiplying that value by itself a number of times equal to the number of runs, ^(Number of Runs).
So, if youre looking for these items, look elsewhere.
If I do this again, I will almost certainly reverse this, maxing out Find Item and putting the remaining points in Battle Orders. Fantastic experiment. That was it for high runes. Online vs Offline - The big drawback is that with the game timer for Online play, you cant run Pindleskin as fast as you want to.
I mean, I'm a bnet player. Hopefully they can remove that timer at some point in the future, because then hell be even better for Online than Offline play.
This gives you the odds of not finding the item in the Number of Runs. Whether you need help or you're just looking to chat - come join us! I've never found anything other than the armor, btw. But anyway, you could probably take what you get in 200 Meph runs and trade for what he got. Press J to jump to the feed. Pindle is super easy to kill, with even a relatively low-level barbarian. This is probably down to a preference thing. I am considering adding him to a mf run online, but if it's not better than lvl 85 areas, it might be better to skip him. Never seen the appeal of single player. Find Item (All Remaining Points, 9 by the end). Hes always in exactly the same spot! On the basis of "total tradable value per hour" (in currency like runes), would you say that Pindle is better or worse than lvl 85 areas like chaos sanctuary?
I would estimate that all told, I spent about 100 hours on this.
Plus, you dont need crushing blow or +skills gear to kill him, so you can stack your MF up to the 600s without any drawbacks. The fact that Griswold is the rarest set in the game, for a useless build, for the coolest hero in game is just sad. However, this doesnt take into account the time spent identifying, storing, sorting, and selling loot. A few really nice circlets too. This makes him a viable farming spot way before most PCs can handle Hell Chaos or Hell Baaal.
They've killed the ability to do this online with the game creation timers, such a tragedy. And since my Barb didnt kill or hork any of Pindles minions, I didnt find a single interesting white, socketed, or ethereal (i.e. Congrats though, 10k runs is a lot of dedication! Initially, this felt right because Pindle hits pretty hard if he gets his charge attack off on you. The low strength requirement allows you to put pretty much no points into strength and go all in on vitality. I mean maybe if I was going for YouTube clicks or worked on an oil platformEven so, his time would have been better spent in CS or anywhere else really.
This translates to approximately 67 Hours across 10,000 runs.
I also alternated between using two Wizard Spikes and Harmony on weapon swap.
I found two really nice dual-leech rings, and a bunch of +2 Skill, +20%IAS gloves for various Zons and Sins. Pindle rolls Cold Enchanted pretty regularly, and getting frozen is obnoxious. I converted everything to percentages in the spreadsheet for readability.

I ran with an Upped Goldwrap because it gave me 30% more MF than Trangs Belt. To add to what others have said, enigma adds a ton of strength, so having it in a low strength armor ends up saving you a lot of stat points - points which are better used to increase vitality. Low strength requirement with a good armor rating, its in the light armor category so no movement speed or stamina penalty also some people like how it looks. People like it's look over the other light armors. Next patch might change that though. He is never magic immune (so use Berserk), and his minions are easily scared off with Howl. I timed several sets of 10 runs and found that my average speed from Pindle Kill to Pindle Kill was 24 seconds. They're my first! In 10k runs I found only one skiller GC. It's got a low strength requirement of 55. You can easily get to this with a well rolled torch and anni and other gear without adding additional points. Almost perfect for Pindle.
Over the course of 10,000 runs, that would have been an extra 500 successful horks. Harmony lets you run through town more quickly, but Spikes let you use Battle Orders, Teleport, and Howl much quicker.
I also found 2x Lo runes, and one Mal. I used a main-hand Grief the entire time, but I wouldnt be surprised if there were budget items that worked almost just as well. Extremely. Call me crazy, but this feels really underwhelming for 10k runs, no?
That means all of those can go into vitality. Thats a pretty mediocre return for 10000 runs though.
Pindle was always my favorite. This meant I had no Cannot be Frozen during the run. After 1 month of D2R he dropped me a Jah, the first high rune in 20 years. Low str requirement so you can equip it and get enough str for most of your gear. Most recently, online play allows you to restart a game in around 25-30seconds.
100 hours including sorting/storage/identify.
Why do people use a mage plate for enigma?
Thanks for the awards, guys!
All values for odds per run were calculated using silospen with a MF value of 640 and players 1.
The equation for this is [1 - ( 1 - (Odds per Run))^(Number of Runs)].
God bless him. You could go either way. I've done 22,5k runs as a sorceress and I can tell you this is better results than I've got, and even accounting hork as a 50% more item drop, this beats me, despite being like 7k runs less.Spent quite alot of silospen too so I know that finding dweb, 2 Lo runes and Mara's and Schaeffer's this early is lucky. So, I might swap out my belt if I did this again. Edit: Hey!
runeword base) item the whole time.
If you havent yet, check out the spreadsheet .
In fact, Ive done the math, and Pindleskin is the absolute best spot to farm some of the rarest items like Griffons Eye.
This would give me 55% chance to Find Item instead of 50.
Runs were a tiny bit faster with the harmony bow, but not by enough that it would have significantly impacted my overall time.
Finally, I maxed Battle Orders and not Find Item. Find item skill on barb is often refered to as horking due to the sound the barb makes when he uses the skill.
Note: My Hork percentage was between 48 and 51% for the duration of this project, which means that while I ran Pindle 10,000 times, I got approximately 13,564 Pindleskins worth of loot (ran the first 2800 with a non-horkin Sorc). It could have easily been literally a waste of 100 hours with a bit poorer RNG.
You subtract this from 1, and the result is the odds of finding at least one of that item in the Number of Runs in your equation.
This subreddit is for people who want to discuss Diablo 2 and Diablo II Resurrected. 10k pindle runs is deceiving, it sounds like it's aloooooot of runs, but in reality it's not that crazy considering pindle runs it the fastest run you can do in d2 and you need like 4-6 pindle runs or something for it to represent about the loot u get from uniques/champions in a pit run. Pindle can still chill you with Holy Freeze if he rolls Aura Enchanted. The Odds per Run column indicates the percent chance of Pindleskin dropping the item in a single run or hork. Decent Def. Odds 1 or More Found Is the likelihood that in the 13,000+ combined runs and horks I would have found the item. It includes two numbers associated with each item.
You dont want to run Raven Frost because the cold damage can break Pindles body, making it un-horkable. Light armor so not running penalty. Also, with 600+ MF, this guy drops rare gloves, boots, circlets, jewelry, and class items all the time.
